Bogus to bubbly came out yesterday (pause for WOOT!). And I just got it today!

quick! wrap the book in cellophane, and store it upright on the shelf!

Stalking the Warlock

Cassandra Clare has posted an excerpt from her new book, The Clockwork Princess. And guess who pops up in it?

“And that there,” Magnus said, looking across the room at Will. “The boy with the angry looks and the eyes like twilight in Hell. That’s Will?”
“That is unfortunately Will,” Tessa acknowledged.
“He’ll be in demand tonight,” Magnus predicted. “He’s very pretty, and vampires like that.” He narrowed his eyes. “Black hair and blue eyes,” he added, with a sort of drawl. “My favorite.”

Pirates 4 be BAD!!!!!

Okay, so Disney (man I hate those guys) recently signed Johnny Depp to play Captain Jack Sparrow in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. And so I was happy. Until I remembered a conversation I had with my friend last year about Why There Was No Possible Way That A Fourth Movie Could Be Good.

For one thing, Davy Jones, Lord Beckett and even Comodore Norrington are DEAD. The only challenge that Jack will face in the next movie is (possibly) trying to get the Black Pearl back from Barbossa. Deja vu, anyone?

And another thing – the last movie was supposed to be, you know, THE LAST MOVIE. Every conflict, problem, issue, challenge or general storyline was been resolved. Will and Elizabeth are married, Will’s father has been freed, we found out who Davy Jones’ mystery lover is, the East India Trading Company has been defeated… And oh yeah. Jack Sparrow is no longer dead.

So tell me. What’s the new movie going to be about then?

Banned Books Week!

This week is Banned Books Week over at YA for Obama. So here are Maureen Johnson’s thoughts on the matter:

Also, there’s this fawesome post ( in the Westerblog archives (no, I do not spend all my free time going through them) with Scott’s thoughts on The Evil Book Banners. Plus, it contains the best description of Tally Youngblood I’ve ever read.

Bomb-throwing, eco-terrorist, self-harming, champagne-drinking, tattooed heroine…

So go and read some banned books! C’mon. You know you want to.
